Dear non-Italian speakers,
As promised here you a post in English (better, in Enrico's version of English, indeed...)
First of all... BREAKING NEWS...
RAIN WOMAN BEATRIZ STRIKES AGAIN
After having made rained in Sicily, Madrid, Seville and Naples, the Rain-Magnet Morsetto has brought the rain also in Sydney.
I heard some Sahara-desert countries have contacted her to offer a position as RAIN-WITCH
Bea and I have settled down very well here in Sydney, we found a very nice flat to stay in, between the City Center - Business District (good for Bea...) and Bondi Beach (good for Enrico..)
In the post just before this one you can see some pictures of the flat (the last one is for fetish purposes..).
We are planning to spend 6 months here in Sydney, find a job (in this sector you know Bea is very willing..) and then making our journey around Australia, before completing our trip to New Zealand, Fiji, San Francisco and NY (Jeez I will never get tired to repeat this... he he he...).
Syd is nice, very similar to what I expect to be an American city, with skyscrapers, melting pot of races (a lot of Chinese, indeed, and sometimes it happens we meet some Aussies..), a little bit chaotic in the downtown, but when you go to the beaches and harbours you would be definitely happy to be here..
Now a flash-back to Tokyo (you can see some pics in the previous posts).
Lads, what a wonderful city!!! We were very impressed and we spent there such lovely days..
First of all, despite no one speaks a single word of English, everybody (especially middle-aged women) is very kind and smiling.
When we arrived, we were reading a map (try to find a place in Tokyo, with no street names...) and a woman, similar to a midget, or a almond-eyed leprechaun, offered herself to see us to the hotel.. not only, she grabbed Bea's luggage and lifted it till we arrived...
We made strange activities: we went to a Sumo Wrestling contest, it was so fun (you can see a pic of me beside a Sumo wrestler in one of the previous posts.. CHRIS: don't ask who is the Japanese wrestler pls..).
We went also to a Sento (public Bath), where we were the only Western people, we were controlled by the other about how deep we were washing ourselves before getting into the warm bath.. (actually I think they have considered me a Mafia-member, due to the tattoos on my body..)
Last consideration: despite the general opinion, Tokyo is CHEAP!!
I make you some examples:
Accomodation (comprehensive of cleaning and free Internet) in double: 20 euros each
Meal (in typical Jap restaurant, not touristic): average 8 euros each. When we ate sushi at the Tokyo Fish Market (the largest in the world) we spent 15 each
Cigarettes: 2 euros a box...
Beer: 3 euro
NOW SOME PERSONAL MESSAGES:
FORMER BEA'S BNY COLLEAGUES: Don't worry, Bea is always the same, even in the other side of the world. She has an average of 4/5 job interviews per day, and I think she is going to get 3 jobs at the same time.. Say to your managers she will come back better than howhe left..
JAYNE: Waiting for you coming.. Our address is
Apt 15 / 101 New South Head Rd. 2027 Edgecliff
Nr 040 6525289
TANYA: OZ Beers (at least NSW ones) SUCK!!!! Toohey's and VB (means Very Bad?) are appalling compared to the Irish ones..
Well,
see you soon all, and I hope to hear from you even sooner..
Enrico & Bea (actually absent as, guess what, she's having an interview...)
